Welcome to the Electronic Version of “The Bald Eagle.”

It has been almost six weeks since I assumed command of Bethesda-Chevy Chase (B-CC) Squadron. What a rare pleasure it is to serve with such a vibrant and bright group of people. The time has gone by quickly and productively. The Squadron has installed and promoted a new Cadet Commander, C/Capt. Sasha Maraj, increased membership, experience an increase in cadet attendance at both regular meetings and squadron activities, and promoted many cadets and senior members.

These overall successes are due to the dedication and professional behavior of both cadets and seniors in staff and participant positions.

Over the last quarter both cadets and seniors have attended the following events:

  • Multiple SAREX’s;

  • Participated in washing and maintaining the Vietnam Memorial on the Mall in Washington, D.C.;

  • Attended a Drug Demand Reduction lecture given by a U.S. Gov’t Special Agent;

  • Gone to encampment at Frettered National Guard Base, Provided color guard duty for the Daughter’s of the American Revolution’s Volunteer of the Year Ceremony, held on the Mall as well as the Kensington Day parade

  • Cadets and some seniors (not enough) have tested consistently and at a quite high level of competence.

We had many cadets participate National Cadet Activities and saw several off to college.

To all a job well done!

I would say the squadron is shaping up nicely, thanks to an excellent cadet and officer staff. With your continued help and participation B-CC will remain among the best-of-the-best.

B-CC Squadron will soon be participating in a triple play study weekend, a finale celebration for washing the Vietnam Memorial, a rocket badge weekend, an educational partnership program with Meade Optics. Emergency Services/air patrols as well as cadet programs continues to roll along at a great pace. We will hold a parents night in November(DTBA) and a holiday party in December(DTBA).

THANK YOU B-CC.
