Chris Blank, Capt, CAP, Michigan Wing

I transferred to BCC as a C/AB (Took my Amn test the first night I was there) I left as a C/MSgt and continued in MIWG where I achieved my Eaker. I’ve come back to visit a number of times. I remember when the meetings were on Wednesdays at the Armory in Bethesda. Recently, I have been trained in with Archer System, and serve on Wing Staff as the Director of IT, DDR Administrator, and work on the ES Staff. I currently own 3 companies, 2 in the computer support field and one in the automotive customization field. I enlisted in the Air Force at the beginning of September and will know when I leave for BMT and what job I will get then. I remember when John Reutemann was my Flight Sergeant and Mike Crockett was my element leader! (Then Major) Knowles gave me my first promotion and said “This is his first stripe, first of many, I’m sure.”

Karen Petersen, Active member of BCC from 1980-1984.

I left the cadet corps as a C/Lt.Col. As a cadet, I finished out my tour as the cadet commander in 1982-1983, then briefly in the honor cadre.

In 1984, I moved to the University of Washington in Seattle to study Aerospace Engineering a year after graduating high school and did not keep up my CAP membership after that. Lots has happened between then and now, I’ll spare you the details.

I currently live in California and am the Systems Engineering & Integration Team Manager on the J-2X program at Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne. The J-2X is a liquid rocket engine that will power the upper stage of the Ares launch vehicle. Ares will eventually replace the Space Shuttle in taking our astronauts to the space station and on to the moon.

Charles Schulze, COL MDARNG

I am living the dream flying Blackhawks as a helicopter instructor pilot, a long way from El Bastardo.

I feel CAP had a huge and profoundly positive influence on me at a time when I needed to belong to something, be accepted, and be encouraged to press ahead. When I train for and take the Army Physical Fitness Test the running always reminds me of the times we spent trudging along the road leading from Harpers Ferry and those lovely strolls in Gathland State Park. Of course the great treat was Sunday at Cindy Dees.

Wish I had pictures from that time but the images and friendships remain fresh in my mind and yesterday (March 2008 recon trip) served to refresh those memories.

SPC David A. Thompson, U.S. Army

I'm not sure how many are there that remember me, (wasn't too long ago I left) I know I've been out of touch, but I've never forgotten were my interest in a military as well as Aviation career started. I recently re-enlisted into the US Army, this time Active duty instead of the National Guard. Right now I'm currently in transit to Korea were I will be spending a year. I hope that you all will email me back and tell me of the squadron and your lives as of date, hopefully when I get back from Korea I can visit again and see how the Squadron has grown. From what I've seen from my periodic checks of the emails floating around you have a very capable Cadet and Senior staff. Maybe when my next contract ends I'll be in a position to come back as a Senior member, but as it stands now I still have alot of world left to explore. I look forword to hearing back from you all.
